The bleeding hearts are out in our backyard.
The ferns have taken over the front yard. Primitive bastards!
The rhododendrons are storing their energy for an explosion. They don't look so hot now, but they will in a couple weeks.
These photos look better if you click on them to get the large version.

Great plant photos, thanks.
Who are these biologists who look down at ferns for being primitive plants ('they don't make seeds') or say sharks for being primitive fish ('they don't have bones, just cartilage'). Sharks and ferns and gars (and jellyfish and yeasts and molds) are doing just fine, thanks. Maybe ferns look down on the seeded plants as their warped mutant offspring. I'm sure sharks look down on all the boney fish as nothing more than a tasty snack.
What kind of rhododendron are these? Mine bloomed weeks ago.
My new Miss Kim Lilac is gonna bloom any day now, tho. Hooha!
