this is tough weather to dress for...too many layers means more junk to schlep home at night whenit's warmer. i should probably invest in some racks and bags instead of trying to cary it all on my back. i might make smarter choices about clothes then.
anyway -- i was in the same boat today. that is all.
I've just come out of that same cold in the morning/warmer in the evening season (though from the other end that you are approaching it). It can be a real crap shoot getting it right.
55F (13C) and foggy here this morning. I had quite a sweat up by the time I got to work but not as much as yesterday when the sun was out. It's going to be a hot summer.
Same problem here -- the solution is a real big scarf (and gloves). The keep wind out of your neck and placed right will give two extra layers of insulation over your chest and stomach.
Also exposure to cold stimulates production of a sort of antifreeze. Increased levels make you more resistant to cold. In March you would laugh at 27 degrees and maybe just put on a flannel shirt, am I right?

A lovely biking day today! If it would stay like this for a little longer. Please, please, please...
On Matt's advice, I wore a big scarf on my ride today. Unfortunately, the scarf got stuck in the spokes, and I was decapitated.
Jim: now that you are headless, how about giving me your Big Dummy?
Dear Jim I am very sorry indeed to hear of your decapitation but at least you can still type!
