I like to write about what's on my mind. It often has something to do with bicycling.

Pedro the Acorn Squash
My son moved to middle school this year and has a new friend, Pedro. Pedro is an acorn squash. My wife joked about baking Pedro with butter (the preferred cooking method for squash). My son was not having any part of that.
"What happens when Pedro rots," my wife asked?
"He's better as compost, than being eaten. At least then he'll go back to the earth," my son answered.
We'll see where this goes.

I'm on Pedro's side. I don't like squash, and don't think people should eat them.
I think you should dress it up as a dear....where's the Cheq post??
You should introduce your son to Maria, the butternut squash.
Your kids never fail to make great blog material.
I'm glad he didn't name the squash "Wilson," ala Tom Hanks' friend in "Castaway."
If your son eats Pedro, he will be with him forever.
